On April 18th, Bedford D.O.G. sponsored a community-wide children's art show featuring creative works with the theme of — what else? — dogs. Hundreds of art aficionados gathered at the Bedford Hills Community House to view the over 400 entries displayed. Art fans were also treated to dog performances by Gary Pietropaolo of Yonkers Police K9 Unit and Dog Trainer, Holly Lucas of Goldens Bridge.
Dogs really touch the hearts of children and the range and expression of this devotion was evident at the Art Show. Colorful paintings, whimsical sculptures, touching poems and even a LEGO-designed dog spoke to the way in which dogs bring humor and love into the lives of children. We wish we had the space to post each and every art submission - they were all terrific!
A big thank you to all the children who participated in the event and helped with all the details! You helped to make our first fundraiser a howling success!
